Agnes Agatha Home…Jacksonville Showroom
In 1965, Agnes Agatha Harper, or Aggie as we lovingly called her, opened The Homemaker Shop on Main Street in Seneca, South Carolina. This was a place where the women of the small textile manufacturing town could purchase housewares, small accessories and some good ol’ southern charm… Something Aggie certainly wasn’t lacking. The Homemaker Shop was something innovative and fresh for the folks of Seneca.
In 1979, Agnes Agatha, her husband, Wilson and their children moved to Jacksonville, Florida and opened Decorative Fabrics Ltd. Inc. For the next three decades, Decorative Fabrics would become the area’s largest textiles retailer and custom workroom. Originally located on Atlantic Boulevard, Decorative Fabrics would eventually relocate to Saint Augustine Road and expanded to Tallahassee, Ocala and Jacksonville Beach.
In 2014, we brought the spirit and vision of Aggie to Jacksonville, Florida combining the innovation and vision of The Homemaker Shop and the knowhow of Decorative Fabrics into a new concept store: Agnes Agatha Homemaker Shop. A place where things are unexpected and unique yet steeped in stylish southern charm. We believe that quality and style should be unwavering. We believe that you should love your space and that your space should love you back. We believe that a home should be as individualistic as those who reside there. We believe in sourcing our products locally and recycling whenever possible.
We believe that over-matching is passé and bland, and in the words of our matriarch, Aggie, “everything matches, because nothing does.” We believe in bringing bold design to the bold new city of the South.
